We are a non-governmental Kenyan Self Help Group
with the mission of aiding the
vulnerable children in our neighbourhood.
Enjoy discovering our website!
Our Objectives
- To identify and support the vulnerable children within Olekasasi area (near Nairobi) as per their basic respective needs.
- To offer temporary shelter to children subjected to abuse.
- To have a programme where vulnerable children get empowered and taught on life skills.
Our Guiding Bible Verse
"for I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me." Then these righteous ones will reply, "Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?" And the King will say, "I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!"
Matthew 25:35-40
Our Approach
- We give shelter to children who end up in the streets. Our house is also a safe place for children who are assaulted.
- We ensure that the children get the education they need by taking them to school and paying for their school fees.
- We regularly help the poorest families with food.
- We pay rent for families who are not able to afford it, so that they do not end up in the streets.
- We pay medical bills in special cases.

Our Stories
Freddy
Freddy is a five-years-old boy who is currently in PP1 enrolled in Elshaddai School. He was born in a family of five, living in a small shanty house in Olekasasi B. He is raised by a single mother who has no job. Putting food on the table is a struggle as the mum relies on manual jobs such as washing clothes and fetching water for people. Freddy's father left and it has been a real struggle to raise the five kids.
Their house is tiny, they have no beddings, and when it rains, water pours into the house, making it hard for them to sleep well. Clothes are also a problem as they rarely buy any clothes due to financial struggles. We know Freddy from Sunday School classes, which he never fails to attend. He is a charming boy, very active and bright. He aspires to be a doctor when he grows up.
